johnny-campbellJohnny Campbell spent 15 years working as an agency recruiter in Ireland and the Caribbean before co-founding Social Talent with business partner, Vincent O’Donoghue. Johnny’s expertise is in identifying and delivering the benefits of a web 3.0 world to the recruitment industry. He prides himself on being able to provide recruiters with the tools to source directly from the internet, enabling them to build talent communities on social media and helping corporates to develop and market their employer brand online in the places where their target audience spend the most time, namely social media.

When he’s not playing Sensei to thousands of Sourcing ninjas, speaking at conferences worldwide, and being awarded accolades and titles like LinkedIn PowerProfile 2015, Johnny is father to Aaron, Jake and Archie, husband to Jill, master to Toby the dog and man-servant to the staff at Social Talent!

 

Mark Landwer

Don’t let his title fool you! Mark Landwer, President, Enterprise, has run a two hundred person sourcing team for five years and worked in Talent Acquisition for twelve.

He knows the ins-and-outs of recruiting, the competitive landscape, and what success looks like. Mark’s presentation will focus on taking a closer look at the recruiting process from pre-hire to post-hire and identify where so many recruiters and companies are falling short.

 

 

Peter Frosch Greater MSPPeter Frosch is the Vice President of Strategic Partnerships at GREATER MSP.  He is responsible for developing and implementing the economic development strategy for the Minneapolis-Saint Paul region.  To do this work, Peter builds and leads high-performing project teams comprised of senior leaders from private, public, academic and philanthropic organizations.  He is also charged with creating and maintaining strategic relationships to support all areas of GREATER MSP’s mission.  Prior to joining GREATER MSP in January 2013, Peter was Legislative Director for Congresswoman Betty McCollum in Washington, D.C. In this role, he managed the legislative staff and directed all aspects of the Congresswoman’s policy agenda including her work on the House Appropriations and Budget Committees.

Peter has also served as Director of Environmental Policy at Environmental Initiative, a Minneapolis-based nonprofit. During his time with the organization he built a statewide coalition of business, government and nonprofit groups that developed Clean Water Legacy, a nonpartisan policy framework funded through the constitutional amendment adopted by referendum in 2008.  He is a member of the University of Minnesota’s Center for Transportation Studies Executive Committee, a participant in Harvard Business School’s Young American Leaders Program, and a 2015 winner of the Knight Foundation Cities Challenge. Peter earned a bachelor’s degree from Northwestern University and a Master’s degree in international relations from Dublin City University in Ireland, where he studied as a George Mitchell Scholar. He lives in Saint Paul with his partner Anne, and their two young children.

Jason BussWith 22 years of human resources and talent acquisition leadership experience as a practitioner, Jason Buss is a recognized expert with deep experience in identifying, recruiting and hiring high-performing teams. He is the vice president of global talent acquisition for MongoDB.

Jason has authored and published content in, and has been quoted by The Huffington Post, Fast Company, Bloomberg, MarketWatch, Society for Human Resource Management, Corporate Executive Board and more.

The Power of Purpose. (Johnny Campbell)
This session will show you how to approach and engage with passive talent so that you can close more than 80 percent of the top talent that you go after.

Advertisers the world over know that emotion is a more powerful selling tool than facts and figures, yet recruiters still spend all of their time selling job function! In this practical session, full of simple tips, learn how you can empower your team to leverage the power of purpose in how they describe job openings, engage with talent and empower your employer brand.

Key learning objectives:

  1. Understand which mediums (phone, e-mail, social media) work best when reaching out to different types of talent.
  2. Leverage insights from neuroscience and behavioral economics to engage top talent and get them wanting to know more about you and your company.
  3. Learn how to pitch your opportunities in a way that appeals to the three types of purpose that are proven to better persuade the best talent to join your company.
  4. Make simple changes to your process around follow-up and leveraging social media to ensure that you don’t miss out on great talent anymore.

Your candidate experience is only as good as the weakest link in your process. Do you treat your candidates like potential future employees throughout the recruitment process? One trend we’re seeing in the recruitment space is the morphing of the candidate and employee experience into more of an overall company experience. In this session, you will learn how this new-school approach can set expectations for future employees and optimize your candidate experience so you can make the best hires now and in the future. By effectively utilizing the recruitment, screening and human capital management tools you have at your fingertips, learn how to make holistic improvements from recruitment to background screening and onboarding.

Key learning objectives:

  1. Understand which stages of the job search and hiring process are more frustrating for candidates, and learn how to identify the weakest links from pre-hire to post-hire.
  2. Discover the preferred communication methods for both employers and candidates in each step of the hiring process.
  3. Uncover candidate perceptions and attitudes that can inform your future strategy.
